We have been on a long and winding road to equality, a road marked by painful exclusion and years of protests and arrests. As Irish people we are transformed from cultural outsiders to insiders who can share in the festivities of the NYC St. Patrick's Parade, a vital expression of our heritage and culture. We have waited for this day for 25 years (since 199 when ILGO (Irish Lesbian & Gay Organization) first applied to march.
